Mayor’s City Builder Award – Elizabeth Gravelle

Mayor Jim Watson today presented a Mayor’s City Builder Award to Elizabeth Gravelle, who has been a volunteer with the Crystal Beach-Lakeview Community Association for 31 years. Last September, the City of Ottawa dedicated a room at Maki House on Leeming Drive in honour of Elizabeth Gravelle in recognition of her many years of dedicated service to the community.

Proposed Water and Sewer Rate Increase Lowest in Eight Years

Ottawa – Mayor Jim Watson and Environment Committee Chair Maria McRae are pleased to announce the City’s 2011 draft water and wastewater budget contains the lowest proposed rate increase in eight years. Mayor’s City Builder Award – Mrs. Betty Giffin

Mayor Jim Watson today presented the inaugural Mayor’s City Builder Award to Mrs. Betty Giffin, of Barrhaven, founder of Victoria’s Quilts Canada, a not-for-profit volunteer organization that makes and donates beautifully crafted handmade quilts to cancer patients.
