• Ottawa 2017 rockin’ the capital with Guns N’ Roses, Our Lady Peace and free pre-concert party

    Ottawa – Ottawa 2017 and lead partner CIBC, in collaboration with Live Nation, are pleased to announce a free outdoor music experience as part of YOWttawa.

    As announced in December, international rock super-stars Guns N’ Roses will perform in Ottawa as part of Canada’s 150th birthday celebrations. The enduring rock legends will thrill fans at Lansdowne Park on August 21, along with opening act, Canadian rock royalty, Our Lady Peace.

    In advance of the concert, everyone is welcome to enjoy live Canadian music on the north plaza of the Aberdeen Pavilion. Featured artists are Eagle River Drum Group, Kina Nimiwag Dance Group, Rise Ashen, Rémi Chassé and Nanette Workman. This free pre-concert party runs from
    4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and is open to concert ticket holders as well as the general public.

    Canada’s 150th anniversary celebrations offer Canadians and visitors from around the world an exceptional and memorable year of high-caliber experiences while bringing a record number of visitors to Ottawa in 2017 to celebrate this important milestone for our country.
